Toby Gunn is trained in contemporary dance and choreography at The Place (London) ‘87 – ‘91, including 4th. yr. Post graduate performance company. Studied pedagogy at D.O.C.H. (Stockholm) ‘07 – ‘09.
A student of the Alexander Technique and of Chinese and Japanese martial arts for the past 30 yrs.

McGregor; Charlie Morrissey & Becky Edmonds; Jane Dudley & Sophie Maslow; Javier De Frutos; Mona Økland; Noa Wertheim & Adi Sha’al; Yolande Snaith … Also research residencies and collaborations including with Fiona Millward/Kate Gowar; jazz improviser Jan Posnford, and providing a dancer resource for Peter Boneham’s choreographic labs;
Various own choreographic projects in England and Sweden since the mid 1990s. Most recently separate solo commissions from Jönköpings Län, Galleri Östra, collaboration with Mohlavyr, and Going Solo festival. Instigator and director of Professional Play at Örebro Läns Museum.
Has taught open professional and company class in several countries including for Independent Dance in England, Danscentrum and Unga Fuse Dansensemble in Sweden, and is a guest teacher at Millennium Performing Arts, London. Founder, and current faculty member of the dance programme at Kävesta Folkhögskola, Sweden.
